Clinical features of Actinic (Solar) Cheilitis

  1. Vermilion portion of lower lip
  2. Pale irregularly opaque (keratotic) surface with intervening red (atrophic) zones
  3. Obfuscated to effaced cutaneous-vermilion border
  4. More advanced lesions are scaly, crusted and/or indurated.
  5. Progression to carcinoma often heralded by persistent ulceration or erosion
